“Words can barely express how much peace of mind this service has brought to me and my family since getting it. It has allowed me to live alone, in my own home, ever since my husband’s death years ago. A wonderful service.”
System & Hardware
Lifeline offers dependable, convenient, and purpose-built technology, assembled and tested by Lifeline. What does that mean to you? Just like how in the event of an emergency, you can get help quickly, we’re also available to monitor our equipment. It’s self-checking and notifies the Response Centre if it detects a power failure or low battery.
Personal alert button
The HomeSafe with Fall Detection help button is worn as a pendant with an adjustable neck cord. This small, discreet device includes the added protection of automatic fall detection.
Having Fall Detection means that you can rest easy knowing if a fall occurs and leaves you confused or even unconscious, the fall detection will automatically alert our Response Centres that help may be needed.1
HomeSafe with Fall Detection is the most proven fall detection technology in a pendant on the Canadian market today. Over 200,000 falls have been detected by Fall Detection.
Wear your help button in the bath or in the shower, where falls in the home are most likely to occur.
Battery is long-lasting, and we’ll automatically replace it when needed.
As your most dependable accessory, the lightweight pendant is comfortably worn over or under clothing.
When you push your button or it detects a fall, it triggers your home communicator to dial our 24 hour Response Centre. When the call connects, it allows for two-way voice communication between you and the Personal Response Associate.
High-fidelity speakers and microphone
The Communicator amplifies sound so you can hear and be heard throughout your home.3
The Communicator conducts regular system checks and will automatically alert Lifeline if maintenance is required.

Our cellular option does not require any special equipment to connect to our Response Centre using the third party cellular network.
Up to 30 hours of battery backup gives you access to help even during power outages.
Powerful coverage in or around your home
Your help button has a wide range of operation, so you can call for help from anywhere in or around your home within range of the in-home Communicator.

How HomeSafe Service Works
1. Summon help
HomeSafe with Fall Detection automatically places a call for help after 30 seconds if a fall is detected and you cannot press your Help Button because you are disoriented, immobilized, or unconscious after a fall.
2. Hear a reassuring voice
A caring Lifeline response associate will quickly access your personal profile and assess the situation.
3. Know help is on the way
Our response associate contacts a neighbour, loved one, or emergency services – based on your preferences – and will follow up to make sure help has arrived.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t the fall detections be worn on the wrist?
Our Fall Detection is designed to be the most accurate. We do that based off of height and speed. If there is a sudden decrease in height and a sudden increase in speed, the Help Button can believe a fall is taking place. People talk with their hands so it would fool the button into what is going on and may not go off when needed.
With the Home Safe Landline +AA will you be able to get the signal from my garden? Will you be able to hear me?
The range of our Homesafe system is a 350-foot radius and is quite broad, we can receive the signal even if a client is not in the same room which usually includes the front or back yard. We would perform a range test to ensure we have set up the communicator is the best location for optimal range. We would not hear our client if they were in a backyard and windows are closed, but keep in mind verbal communication is never mandatory as a client can be 2 feet away from the speaker, and is non-verbal – as long as we receive the signal within the 350 foot radius we will contact responders/emergency services as needed to assist our clients.
If the Fall is detected, who do we contact first?
If the client is responsive, we will speak to them through the 2-way communicator to discuss what has happened and call responders/emergency services as needed. If the client is unresponsive, then we will try calling over the phone. If there is no answer over the phone, we will then call 911 then call the list of responders.
